The Fall 2024

Fall hits differently in Napa Valley. While we love a good pumpkin spice latte just as much as the next person, Fall brings with it the official start of our busiest season: Harvest.

As we embark on the most magical time of the year in the Valley, we want to bring you in on the action with updates from the vineyard from our Director of Winemaking, special events (the annual harvest party!), sustainability, a new hotel partnership, and a few fun facts about a fan-favorite team member.

Read on, enjoy and we hope to have you join us this Harvest Season at the Estate!

In The Vineyard

An update from Director of Winemaking, Nick Moraida

As we transition through Veraison, we’re now gearing up for
the most exciting part of the year – harvest season! Verasion is when the grapes turn from green to red, then we begin to enter the later stages of berry ripening and growth. This is
when the color and tannin development start to shine,
setting the stage for the quality of our wines.

We’re happy to report that the crop is looking excellent this year. We’re running earlier than last year, but as we all remember, last year was one of the latest seasons we’ve seen
in a very long time. This year, the weather has been kind and we’re optimistic about an outstanding harvest season.

Our first Sauvignon Blanc grapes of the season have been picked and with a toast of champagne to bless the grapes on August 23rd, we officially started Harvest at the Estate!

Sustainability

While not the most glamorous of topics, waste water management is a critical component of our commitment to preserving the environment. At Sinegal Estate, all of the water we use, whether from our lake or wells, is carefully managed to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.

Once the water is used throughout the estate, it goes through an advanced wastewater system that purifies it back to its original, clean form. This purified water is then reused for watering our vineyards and other essential needs around the estate. By recycling and reusing water in this way, we not only reduce our environmental footprint, but also ensure that our vineyards thrive with the resources they need.

Q&A

1. What do you do at Sinegal Estate?

My title is Director of Hospitality, so I host guests, throw parties, travel a bit to represent Sinegal on the Road, help out with club members when visiting…  I have a pretty great job and I’m a pretty lucky guy.

2. How long have you been here and what’s your fondest memory at Sinegal?

I started in December of 2019. I have so many fond memories, due to the connections I made and the great friendships I’ve made with the members and clients. But, I do love the parties here. To see people have fun, meet each other, become friends, enjoy the food and wine… I find it to be a great thing when you bring people together.

3. Everyone has a favorite.
What’s your wine of choice these days?

Well, I love cold beverages, so I love Rose, Sauv Blanc and bubbles. I shared a bottle of Sinegal Rose last night with a friend and it was delicious as always.

4. Someone is traveling to Napa Valley who has never been.
What’s your locals’ only spot for them to try?

Napa Valley Olive Oil MFG in St. Helena, no doubt. Cheeses, olive oils, pastas, sweets, and everything Italian. Bring your business card with you when you go… trust me on that!
